Jerrol Keith Beckwith, 86, went to be with Jesus November 17, 2021, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
He was born October 12, 1935, in Larned, the son of Carrol Kneeland and Hazel Carolyn Smith Beckwith.
A lifetime area resident, he was a banker, working in St. Joseph, Missouri, and Stafford, Liberal, and Lorraine, Kansas. He was a member of Encounter Church, Great Bend and was very civic-minded, serving on city councils, volunteer fire departments, and in the United States Navy.
On January 19, 1964, he married Oleta Louise Weaver at Larned; she survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Darren (Lisa) Beckwith, Ellinwood; daughter, Jill (Aaron) Sauer, Ellinwood; two brothers, Kim Monroe (Cheryl) Beckwith, Larned, Kevin Theodore (Suzanne) Beckwith, Perry; sister, Kathy Jo (Keith) Johnson, Pleasant Hill, IA; six grandchildren, Danielle Beckwith, Oklahoma City, OK, Darrien (Andy) Wiechman, Midland, TX, Delaney Meg Beckwith, Oklahoma City, OK, Mallory (Joe) Auer, Ethan Sauer, Madison Sauer, all of Ellinwood; and one great granddaughter, Lexi Auer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Carrol Kay Beckwith, and two sisters, Carolyn Annette Murphy and V. Clione Bieber.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Encounter Church, Great Bend, with Pastor Dwight Dozier presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2021, at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned with family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Larned Cemetery with military graveside rites.
