KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Fort Hays State volleyball team was picked eighth in the 2026 MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll, announced Monday (Aug. 24) by the conference office. The Tigers raked in 63 points in the balloting process, 18 behind seventh-ranked Pittsburg State.
The Tigers are coming off a 16-13 season in 2025, with FHSU qualifying for the MIAA Tournament for the second year in a row. Fort Hays State returns 12 letterwinners from last season, while first-year head coach Garcia Ramser added six freshmen to bolster the lineup.
Fort Hays State will play 13 of its 30 matches at home this season beginning this weekend (Aug. 27-29) with the 2026 Tiger Classic. FHSU will take on Truman State (6 p.m.) on Thursday, Regis (2:30 p.m.) and Midwestern State (7:30 p.m.) on Friday and Eastern New Mexico (noon) on Saturday. Conference play kicks off on September 16 when the Tigers host Nebraska-Kearney at 6 p.m.
