Dolores Ann Bieberle-Westbrook

Dolores Ann Bieberle-Westbrook, 91, died October 31, 2021, at Country Place Senior Living, Hoisington.  She was born January 22, 1930, in Rural Redwing, Kansas, the daughter of Anthony P. and Veronica L. (Meyeres) Francis. Dolores graduated from the high school in Odin in 1948.

She married Gilbert Bieberle on August 22, 1950, at St. Rose Catholic Church, Great Bend. To this union five children were born.  Dolores was a devoted mother, homemaker and farmwife. She always had a large garden and helped with all aspects of the farm until Gilbert’s death on August 14, 1984. 

She later married James W. Westbrook on August 12, 1988, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hoisington.   They then moved to Augusta, Kansas, where she was a member of the St. James Catholic Church and Altar Society, and faithful in her devotional hour. They spent many happy years traveling together until his death on November 29, 2003.

Dolores then moved back to Hoisington in 2018, where she became once again a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. 

She is survived by four children; Janiece E. Klenda (Michael) of LaCrosse, Katherine A. “Kay” Demel (Rick) of Hiawatha, Glen J. Bieberle (Starla) and Darin A. Bieberle, all of Redwing; daughter-in-law, Mary Bieberle of St. John; five stepchildren, Cheryl Hoffman and Tony Westbrook, both of California, Sonya Westbrook of North Carolina, and Randy Westbrook and June Westbrook of Colorado; nine grandchildren, Joel, Sarah, Joshua, Jared, Justin, Kristin, Deidra, Trevor and Ryan; one step grandson, Jason; and 14 great grandchildren, Grace, Ava, Luke, Brody, Bristol, Clayton, Chase, Clark, Lainey, Rhett, Sawyer, Wilder, Bodhi, and one more on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son, Keith D. Bieberle; five brothers, Ed, Leonard, Bernard, Marcellus, and Ray Francis; and three sisters, Martha Francis, Margaret E. Gates, and Joan Krier.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, with family to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Vigil and Rosary will begin at 7 p.m., all at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 5, 2021, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, celebrated by Father Anselm Eke. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Hoisington.
