Gary L. Miller, 79, Hays, died Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at HaysMed.

He was born January 18, 1942, in Fremont, Nebraska the son of John and Iris (Long) Miller. He was a 1962 graduate of Ellis High School and served in the U.S. Army.  On May 29, 1965, he was united in marriage to Bernie Younger in Antonino, Kansas, and they celebrated 55 years of marriage.  He was a truck driver and in his retirement years, worked at Minooka Park at Wilson Lake.  He was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church.  He enjoyed woodworking, woodburning, and meticulously caring for his vehicles.  Gary and Bernie spent many years together camping and traveling, with long stays in Arizona and visiting other states including Alaska and Hawaii. 

He is survived by his wife Bernie of Hays, two sons: Chris Miller and wife Melody of Kansas City and Steve Miller and wife Emily of Hays, a brother: Jack Miller of Greeley, CO, a sister-in-law: Barbara Miller of Salina, four grandchildren: Mason, Zach, and Chloe Miller, and Aaron Holmberg, and a granddaughter due in June.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Ron Miller.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Antonino.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 on Friday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and from 9:00 am until service time on Saturday at the church.  Memorials may be made payable to: Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery Fund or to St. Joseph Food Pantry.  Condolences and memories of Gary may be shared with the family at www.haysmemorial.com
