Geraldine “Gerri” Elizabeth (Anderson) Walls, 78, died Sunday, January 31, 2021, at the Rice County District Hospital in Lyons.
She was born September 27, 1942, in Spearville, the daughter of Hans and Josephine Ida (Stramel) Anderson. She was the youngest child of 5. She was a 1960 graduate of Jetmore High School and attended computer college in Hays. She worked for Dr. Baker for many years, was a beautician, a nurses aide and medication aide.
She attended the United Presbyterian Church in Jetmore and was a sewing leader for 4-H. She was the past president of the Business of America Club in Hays, past secretary of the Happy Hour Club and belonged to the Cousin Club as well as a past Board Member of the Senior Center.
She married Dan Stejskal in 1960. To this union, 3 children were born. Their marriage ended in divorce. On September 5, 1998 she married DeWayne R. Walls at Ness City. He survives.
Other survivors include: 3 daughters, Therese Thompson, Lyons, Tracy Myers, Lyons and Tammy Pugh and special friend, Sandi Niemczyk, Newton; step-son, Robert Leon Walls, Portales, New Mexico; her sister, Marjorie Stallings, Jetmore; 7 grandchildren, 1 step-grandson, 6 great grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Everett Anderson and 2 sisters, Velma Olson and Bernita Sandoval.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, February 4, 2021 at the United Presbyterian Church, Jetmore, with Pastor Mark Durham officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore. Visitation will be Wednesday from noon to 8:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.
