JoAnn Fincher, 81, La Crosse, Kansas, died Saturday, June 20, 2020, at her home.
JoAnn was born June 1, 1939, in rural Liebenthal, Kansas, the daughter of Marcus and Magdalena E. (Herrman) Depperschmidt. She was a lifelong resident of Rush County, Kansas. She was a cook at Rush County Memorial Hospital, La Crosse, Kansas, before her retirement.
JoAnn’s passions in life were her family and bingo.
She married James Richard “Dick” Fincher. He preceded her in death August 5, 1995.
Survivors include: three grandchildren, James Fincher, Ernie Fincher, Jr., and Nakeya Reed; eight great grandchildren; her daughter in law, Cindy Fincher; and her brother, Dennis Depperschmidt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Ernest “Fat Ernie” Fincher; four brothers, Gerald Depperschmidt, LaVern Depperschmidt, Charles “Charlie” Depperschmidt, and Lee “Ed” Depperschmidt; and four sisters, Rosie Krom, Mary Alice Stetler, Ida John, and Patricia “Patty” Hasenfratz.
The family has chosen cremation.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
