🥎 Monarchs cruise to pair of run-rule shutouts over Russell-Victoria

RUSSELL - The TMP-Marian softball team moved to 4-0 on the young season with a pair of shutout victories over Russell-Victoria Friday. The Monarchs won game one 14-0 in five innings then took the second contest 19-0 in three innings.

The Monarchs are back on the road Tuesday for a doubleheader at Ellinwood.

Game 1: TMP-Marian 14, Russell-Victoria 0 (5 innings)
The Monarchs jumped out early with two runs in the first on a Paige Koenigsman single.

They scored 12 runs in the second inning to blow the game open. Adi Gottschalk and Brynn Rebel both hit three-run homers in the frame. Koeningsman drove in three with a single. Addison Watson, Raegan Allen and Molly Helget added RBI singles.

Rebel (2-0) ave up only one hit with five strikeouts and no walks and picked up the win. Gracelynn Dinkel took the loss for Russell-Victoria.

Game 2: TMP-Marian 19, Russell-Victoria 9 (3 innings)
The Monarchs cruised thanks in part to an 11 run third inning. Brynn Rebel had two hits and drove in four in the inning. Addison Watson and Raegan Allen had two-run singles while Bria Windholz, Hannah Rose and Adi Gottschalk all drove in a run.

TMP-Marian got on the board in the top of the first inning after Paige Koenigsman drove in a run with a single. A Broncos error scored two runs.

The Monarchs added five runs on five hits in the top of the second inning on a Windholz two-run singled, Rose two-run double and Allen RBI single.

Windholz (2-0) earned the win. The starter allowed one hit over three innings with no strikeouts or walks. Gracelynn Dinkel took the loss for Russell-Victoria Varsity Broncos.
