
Gary Lynn Billips November 18, 1959 - April 18, 2026 Gary Lynn Billips, 66, of Hill City, Kansas, passed away on April 18, 2026, in Hill City. Born on November 18, 1959, in Norton, Kansas, to Eldon and Leora (Cutting) Billips, Gary spent his formative years in Penokee, Kansas, helping on the family farm.
On October 17, 1982, Gary married Deborah (Clark), and together they built a life filled with love and hard work. They raised two children, Adrien Billips of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Brandi Geist of Grand Island, Nebraska.
For 30 years, Gary and Deborah owned and operated a professional cleaning business in Grand Island before semi-retiring to the family farm in Kansas. There, Gary fulfilled his lifelong dream of starting a small livestock herd. Gary was known for his tireless work ethic and his willingness to help anyone in need. He had a passion for riding motorcycles, restoring and collecting antique wood-burning stoves, and attending his grandchildren’s many activities. His grandchildren— Treyton (Leilani), Taviana (James), Sophee, Audri, and Jonah—brought him immense joy. Gary is survived by his wife Deborah; his children Adrien and Brandi(Daniel); his sisters Judy (Richard) Durham of Palisade, Nebraska, and Janet (Ray) Schmidtberger of Ellis, Kansas; and his cherished grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Eldon Billips and Leora Adams; his brother Larry Billips; and his grandparents Oren and Opal Billips and Robert and Julia Cutting.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Roscoe Cemetery in rural Hill City, Kansas.
Gary’s memory will live on through the lives he touched. May those who knew him find comfort in their memories of him.
