Robert L. Scheck, age 75, of Hays, Kansas passed away Tuesday, January 18th, 2022, in Hays. Robert was born August 31st, 1946, to Robert and Rosemary (Hall) Scheck. On July 2nd, 1977, he married the love of his life, Jill Vigil in Denver, Colorado.
Robert had accomplished many things during his lifetime. He was a Pastor at Church on the Rock, a marriage counselor, a Spanish and Theology teacher, a baseball and basketball coach, and author of three books, a public speaker, and a mentor of men. He was an accomplished fast pitch softball player having played in the World Fastpitch Championship. Robert also proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Robert is survived by his wife, Jill of Hays; children, Yvette Moritz (Bradley) of Hays, Cheryl Scheck of Denver, Karen Salazar (Tommy) of Denver and Angelo Palombo II of Hays; two brothers, Roy Scheck of Denver and Ron Scheck of Kansas City; five sisters, Cathy Karlin of Hays, Janice Deeds, of Pratt, Mary Wright of Hays, Nancy Lichtenauer of Kansas City, and Liz Schmeidler of Hays; grandchildren, Victoria, Aaron, Adam, Rebekah, Jessica, Monica, Michael, Alyssa, Angelo III, Brynly, Gabriel, Daniel, Lacey, and Lindsey, as well as great grandchildren, Leighton, Blakely, Miles, Jonah, and Christian.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Diane Melofsky.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 5:00 PM and a celebration of Life service will follow at 6:00 PM at Brock’s-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.
