Hill City native, KHP trooper promoted to lieutenant

TOPEKA — Technical Trooper Justin Rohr has been promoted to Lieutenant, according to a news release from Col. Herman T. Jones. superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Rohr joined the Patrol as a Trooper in 2006 with Class #45. His first duty station was Saline County, Troop C. He was awarded a transfer to the Special Response Team, Troop S in Topeka, in 2012. In 2014, he was transferred to the Police Service Dog Unit. In addition, Rohr has served as a Defense Tactics Instructor.

During his time with KHP, Rohr has received several awards.

In 2014 and 2018, he received the "Top Producer" award for currency seizures. In 2019, he was awarded the "Largest Currency Seizure in the Nation."

This year, Rohr was recognized as the "K-9 Officer of the Year" by the Kansas Narcotics Officers Association.

Rohr is a native of Hill City. He graduated from Hill City High School and later attended Northwest Kansas Technical College.
