GARDEN CITY – The Hays High girls’ golf team placed five in the top-10 and won the Garden City Invitational by 39 shots over Dodge City and Garden City Thursday at the Buffalo Dunes Golf Course.
The Indians shot a 352 as a team. Dodge City edged Garden City on the fifth scored to finish second after both shot a 391.
HHS was led by Katie Dinkel who won the individual title after shooting a 10-over-par 82, Dinkel won on the first hole of a playoff with Garden City’s Ryann Warren. Taleia McCrae shot an 86 and placed third, Claire Humphrey fired a 91 and placed fifth, Abbie Norris was sixth with a 93. Evyn Cox shot a 93 and placed but here round was not figured into the Indians team total.
