Fort Hays State wraps up its week of home contests on Saturday (Feb. 14) when it plays host to Newman University. The Tigers enter at 16-8 overall and 8-7 in the MIAA, while the Jets are 5-19 overall and 1-14 in the MIAA. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. at Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays.

Two Tiger seniors will be recognized immediately following the conclusion of the women's game. Muhamed Kante and Juju Ramirez will be recognized.

The Tigers are coming off a 62-56 win over Emporia State on Thursday night, giving them a sweep of the regular season series between the teams. It also snapped a four-game losing skid for the Tigers overall as they got back on track in conference play. Dan Mukuna led the Tigers with 15 points, followed by Jahvari Martino with 14 and Muhamed Kante with 12.

Newman fell to Nebraska-Kearney on Thursday night by a score of 86-67. The Jets are 0-9 in true road games this year, 1-10 overall in games away from their home gymnasium. They are currently in the midst of a 15-game losing streak overall.

The Tigers own a strong 47-11 advantage in the all-time series with Newman. The Tigers are 25-2 at Gross Memorial Coliseum against the Jets, which includes 18-straight wins in Hays going into Saturday. FHSU is 27-2 all-time against Newman in Hays.

Dan Mukuna leads FHSU at 17.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. He has scored in double figures in 20 games this season. Kyle Grill adds 13.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. Jahvari Martino averages 11.3 points per game, while Lucas Hammeke adds 8.8 per game and leads the team in assists at 3.5 per game.

Cyrus Shaw leads Newman at 10.7 points per game, while Thatcher McClure adds 10.5 per game. Sam Somerhalder and Kobe Freeman each average over three assists per game.
