It wasn’t the eight inches of snow predicted by the National Weather Service in Dodge City but Hays did receive three inches of snow Wednesday night according to the K-State Agricultural Research Center.
Light snow flurries continued Thursday morning after a winter storm warning ended at 6 a.m.
The snow, the first to fall during February, yielded 0.19 inches of precipitation for a total of 1.41 inches of precipitation so far this year in Hays.
Hays is slightly ahead of average amounts of moisture for the month and the year.
