
RUSh COUNTY—One person was hospitalized after an accident just before 10a.m. Wednesday in Rush County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2024 Freightline semi driven by Brandon John Knipp, 39, Russell, was westbound on Kansas 4 at U.S. 183.
The driver failed to stop at the stop sign and collided with a southbound 2013 Kenworth semi driven by Jeffrey Alan Beikmann, 43, Russell, in the the intersection.

After impact, the Kenworth traveled into the southwest corner of the road and overturned. The Freightliner came to rest jack-knifed on K4 facing Eastbound.
EMS transported Knipp to Hays Medical Center. First responders treated Beikmann at the scene for minor injuries. Knipp was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
