Janet Louise Rorick was born April 19, 1949, in San Francisco, California
to Albert and Lina (Peters) Wilkerson. She passed away February 5, 2021, at the Cheyenne County Village in St. Francis, Kansas, at the age of 71.
Janet moved around a lot due to her father serving in the Navy and
was a 1967 Ventura High School graduate. She then went on to receive her
Associate’s Degree. Janet married James Rorick, Jr. on November 4,
1968 in Point Mugu, California. They also moved around a lot due to
James serving in the Navy. Janet worked as a nurse in a nursing home.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oberlin. In her
spare time, she enjoyed sewing, crafts, and doing home repairs.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lina;
husband, James; daughter, Jeanine Rorick and sister, Anne Wilkerson. She
is survived by her sons, James (Leah) Rorick of Denver, CO and Jonathon
Rorick of Goodland, KS; daughter, Jennifer (Anthony) Zillinger of
Oberlin, KS; sisters, Karen Yarian of Herndon, KS, Linda (Rodney) Hill
of Clifton, CO and Vera Banford of Oberlin, KS; grandchildren: Raquel,
Adam, A. J., Jenavive, and Jon.
The family has chosen cremation with inurnment at Phippsburg, Colorado at a later date.
