The selection process for justices to the Kansas Supreme Court will remain the same after Ellis County voters and other Kansans said an overwhelming "no" to a proposed constitutional amendment for changing the governor's appointment method.
In Ellis County, 56% of voters were against the proposal while the statewide "no" vote was 61%, according to the Kansas Secretary of State website.
Results of contested local races in the Ellis County primary election from Bobbi Dreiling, county clerk and county election officer, are below. The results do not include provisional votes and remain unofficial until canvassed by the Ellis County Commission.
According to Dreiling, 5,989 ballots were cast Tuesday, a voter turnout of 29.14% for Ellis County.
