EMPORIA, Kan. – Fort Hays State Men's Track and Field won a pair of events at the ESU Midwest Classic on Saturday (Apr. 17). David Enns topped the javelin, while teammates Mark Faber and Jacob Clark tied for top honors in the pole vault. Fort Hays State placed fifth as a team.

Enns claimed the javelin with a throw of 191'4", just a bit shy of a provisional mark even though he already owns one and is among the top-20 efforts in the nation so far this season.

Faber and Clark each cleared 15'5.75" in the pole vault. Each cleared 4.57m and 4.72m on one attempt, then both missed on all three attempts at 4.87m and settled for a tie. Both already own better efforts this outdoor season and are among the provisional marks nationally.

Gilbert Peters produced a second-place finish in the discus with a toss of 149'6". Kolgan Ohl was third in the hammer throw with a heave of 164'1". Sebastian Garcia placed third in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:35.82, rounding out Tiger men with top-three finishes at the meet.

The Tigers head to Pittsburg, Kansas next weekend for the Pittsburg State Tune-Up.
