⛳Weather delays 5A girls state tournament first-round

SALINA – Day number one of the 5A state golf tournament in Salina was disrupted by a more than three-hour rain and lightning delay and then darkness, so the first round continues Tuesday morning at the Salina Municipal.

Hays High’s Jaycee Oakley, Liz Dreiling and Kinley Pfannenstiel are headed back to the course Tuesday morning to complete their opening round at 8 a.m.

Oakley was in fifth, at four-over through 15 holes Monday and is in a position to be one of 18 individual qualifiers for day number two.

Liz Dreiling was in 53rd place with a 28-over through 16 holes, and Kinley Pfannenstiel was tied for 70th with a 36-over through 16 holes.

Ava Erbert and Lily Butler finished their first round 36-over and were tied for 70th.
