JOPLIN, Mo. - Fort Hays State sophomore Regan Hodsden earned All-Region honors at the 2022 NCAA Division II Central Region Championships Saturday morning, helping the Tigers to a 10th-place finish out of 36 teams.
Hodsden placed 15th in the field of 233 runners, crossing the finish line in 21:02.4. Darian Hudgeons finished 49th with a time of 21:52.5, with Jaycee Vath placing 56th after completing the six-kilometer race in 22:02.1. Elizabeth Fender was 65th with a time of 22:17.6 while Emily Salmans rounded out the scoring five after traversing the course in 22:17.6, good for 65th place.
Hodsden is the ninth All-Region performer on the women's side during head coach Dr. Jason McCullough's tenure and the first to do so since 2018. It was the 11th time the women have placed inside the top 10 at regionals in McCullough's 17-year run as head coach.
Lindsay Cunningham of Winona State won the race after crossing the line in 19:34.8, 45 seconds faster than her nearest competitor. Augustana placed all five runners in the top 25, taking the team title with 62 points.
