There is a slight risk of thunderstorms and severe weather in the Hays area Thursday evening, according to the National Weather Service in Dodge City.
The NWS said there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms between 8 p.m. and midnight.
Skies will clear after midnight and remain partly cloudy into Friday evening, when there is a 20 percent to 30 percent chance of showers or thunderstorms.
The wind will pick up as the weekend nears, as well, with winds of 10 to 13 mph on Thursday, 16 to 22 mph on Friday, and 31 to 26 mph on Saturday — with gusts up to 50 mph.
