Hays Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts spread holiday cheer by delivering gifts and singing carols at local nursing homes as part of this year’s Christmas Magic.

Several scout troops gathered Saturday morning to visit the Good Samaritan Society and Brookdale Senior Living. Scouts went door-to-door throughout the facility, surprising residents with gift bags prepared for them.

----

The Elves with the help of area Scouts delivered gift bags to Hays nursing homes, Epworth Tower and the Plaza and afterwards brought some Christmas Magic to the patrons and staff of the North McDonalds here in Hays.

Helping out were: Brent William Pack 133. Giyer Williams, Damian Williams, Micah Ridgeway, James Ricketts, Jacob Ridgway, Nigel Williams Troop 101, Amber, Carol and Aliza Arnold, Jessica Orth, Cora States Troop 10088 Tony Anthony, Tanea Speer, Aniyah Trendel, Alexa Barriger, Alexis Mohr, Lisa Newman and Ja'nice Koshiol. (Please pardon any misspellings.)

Gift bags are also being delivered by the staffs of The VA Home Health, Link Amazing Grace and Guardian Home Health Care Agencies.

This year 141 gift bags went out. The last went to a lady who pm'd us late Friday evening wondering if she might be remembered as well. Thanks to our supporters there was some money in the Christmas Magic savings account and we were able to provide her not only a gift bag, but food and a blanket as well. She has lost nearly everything in a house fire.

It is with great sadness that we bid goodbye to one of our favorite Elves, Angelique Michelle Richards. She was swept off her feet by a handsome rascal and he drug her, smiling all the way, to Texas.

Our heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS to the newlyweds.

I couldn't possibly be prouder of all those who make Christmas Magic possible each year. From the donors to those who pack the bags to those who get to hand the bags out; ALL incredible, wonderful people.

May God bless each and every one of you this day and all the days of your lives.

Until next year, Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
