⚾ Monarchs run win-streak to six with sweep of Eagles

COLBY – The TMP-Marian baseball team ran their winning-streak to six games with a doubleheader sweep over Colby Friday. The Monarchs won 13-2 and 18-1 and are now 10-4 on the season.

They are scheduled to play at Garden City next Thursday.

Game 1: TMP-Marian 13, Colby 2 (6 innings)
The Monarchs scored four runs in the top of the first and led 5-0 after two. They added four in the fifth and four in the sixth.

Caden Morgan and Nick Helget both had four hits and three RBIs. Mark Rack added two hits and drove in two runs.

Jace Wentling pitched six innings and allowed two runs on five hits with nine strikeouts and three walks.

Game 2: TMP-Marian 18, Colby 1 (3 innings)
The Monarchs scored 11 runs in the first and made quick work of the Eagles. TMP’s first six batters reached safely and scored to start the game.

Five Monarchs had two hits including Jace Wentling who drove in five runs. Caden Morgan had three RBIs, Mark Rack, Nick Helget and Joey Mindrup all drove in two runs.

Nick Herman went the three innings for the win allowing one run on three hits with three strikeouts and one walk.
