Allen John Dinkel, 71, of Hays, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, at Hays Medical Center, Hays.

He was born June 17, 1950, in Hays to Alvin F. and Edna Ruby (Dreiling) Dinkel. He married Gloria J. (Kisner) on Dec. 26, 1970, in Pfeifer.

He was the facility coordinator for Eagle Communications for over 30 years. He also owned and operated Allen Dinkel Construction. Allen grew up in Victoria and was a 1968 graduate of Victoria High School. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Nicholas of Myra Knights of Columbus. Allen played softball and baseball for a number of years and enjoyed golfing.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Dinkel, of the home; his children, Manda Ellis and husband, Rich, Denver; Brent Dinkel and wife, Tina, Shawnee; Shon Dinkel, Hays; five brothers, Darrell Dinkel and wife, Cindy, Aurora, Colo.; Ron Dinkel, Tempe, Ariz.; Ruben Dinkel and wife, Jackie, Monument, Colo.; Jeff Dinkel and wife, Julie, Monument, Colo.; Pat Dinkel and wife, Diann, Tempe, Ariz.; one sister, Dee Bates, Canyon City, Colo.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Steve and Jane (Kronewitter) Kisner, Pfeifer; three brothers-in-law, Tom Kisner and wife Cindy, Hays; David Kisner and wife, Ronda, Derby; Jeff Kisner and wife, Janine, Victoria; six sisters-in-law, Wanda Pfannenstiel and husband, Steve, Hays; Linda Goetz and husband, Bruce, Hays; Brenda Erbert, Hays; Myrna Hoffman and husband, Jeff, Hays; Kerri Dinkel, Basehor; Karla Dinkel; and eight grandchildren, Brandon, Zack, Rylan, Tayvin, Kamden, Keaton, Aaliyah, Davian.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lori Dinkel and three brothers, Donald, Terry and Rich Dinkel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 13th and Ash, Hays, with Father Dana Clark officiating. A private family inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays.

A vigil service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, with a St. Nicholas Knights of Columbus rosary at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, all at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

The family suggest memorials made payable to American Cancer Society Hope Lodge of Kansas City or Hospice of Hays Medical Center, in care of Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd St., Hays, KS 67601.
