⚾ LaRue's stays hot, Larks win seventh-straight

HAYS – Tyler LaRue had four hits and John Ceccoli drove in three runs helping the Hays Larks run their winning-streak to seven games with an 18-3 run-rule victory over the Colorado RoughRiders Saturday night at Larks Park.

LaRue had two doubles and a triple and drove in two runs in the game that was called after seven innings. Garrett Gruel led off the Larks four-run second with a home run to left field.

The Larks (20-4, 10-2 RMBL) took control early, building a 10-2 lead after three innings. Following a weather delay, they blew the game open with an eight-run fifth inning. Ceccoli hit a three-run home run to highlight the big inning.

Aaron Calhoun allowed one earned run on five hits over three innings with four strikeouts and two walks and picked up the win. Tyler Schott and Kaleb Meredith combined to allow one earned run over the final four innings of relief.

LARUE STAYS HOT

Larks catcher Tyler LaRue ran his hit-streak to team best 12 games. The Houston Christian senior has 16 hits in the last five games and has multi-hits in seven of the 12 games during his current hit streak.

DREILING DEBUT

Former Hays High standout and Tennessee freshman Dylan Dreiling made his debut Saturday going 0-for-3 with two flyouts, a strikeout and a run scored.
