Robert L. “Bob” Bates, of Lincoln, Kansas, 96, passed away on the morning of January 25, 2022.
Bob was born near Lucas, Kansas, on June 15, 1925, to Wallace and
Clara (Barton) Bates. He was one of five children. His siblings were
Thelma, Jesse, Harry, and Loretta. Thelma passed away at the age of 11
on January 6, 1926.
Bob attended and graduated from Lucas High School, a member of the
class of 1943. He was a World War II Army veteran and lived in Lucas,
Kansas until his health started to fail him a few years ago.
He is survived by his nephew, Steve Bates of Overland Park, Kansas,
many friends in Lucas, Kansas, and a special friend, Teresa Erbert, who
looked in on him.
Burial will be at Delhi Cemetery at a later date.
