Kansas driver fell asleep and car struck utility pole

ELLIS COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just before 3p.m. Tuesday in Ellis County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Honda Accord driven by  Jimi Wayne  Hill, 26, Timken, was southbound on U.S. 183 at South County Line Road.

The driver fell asleep. The car traveled off the road to the west and the driver overcorrected. The Honda then crossed U.S. 183 to the east and struck a utility pole.

EMS transported Hill to Hays Medical Center. He was properly restrained, according to the KHP.
