While raised in Plainville, KS, the City of Great Bend still can claim rights to the birthplace of U.S. Senator Jerry Moran. Moran was born in Great Bend on May 29, 1954. He was elected to the Senate in 2010 and is currently the senior United States senator from Kansas. Great Bend honored Moran with the above sign placed at Veterans Memorial Park.
