
Lowell Don Newsom, formerly of Dalton, Mo., passed away on February 18, 2022. Lowell worked on his family farm with his beloved parents Donald and Sally Newsom. After leaving the farm to enroll at the University of Missouri, he joined his beloved fraternity Alpha Gamma Rho and became its President in 1969.
After graduation, he was hired by the IBM corporation in the Wichita, Kansas, branch office and covered two territories in Hays and Hutchinson.
In 1976, he was promoted to a district manager in St. Louis covering a seven-state district with IBM and an IBM spin off company, Lexmark International for 25 years. After that, Lowell became involved in philanthropy and became his fraternity’s first Director of Development. He also what was the first Director of Development for a State wide organization, the Missouri Council of the Blind. Lowell loved the St. Louis Cardinals. He had a dear Aunt, Jessie (Coleman) Homman who led him to his Cardinals love. Later on, Lowell worked for two international companies one in Singapore and another in Calgary Canada. He lived life to the fullest and made countless many friends along the way. He is survived by his dear and only son Matthew Lowell Newsom.
