Dale Lee Bockelman, 71, died on Friday, June 11, 2021 at his home in
Lane County. He was born on June 10, 1950 at Scott City the son of
Walter H. & Pauline (Meineka) Bockelman. He married Kathy Steinle
on August 3, 1974 at Russell. He later married Ruth Ellen Shaw on April
18, 1998 at Garden City. She died on May 22, 2014.
Dale graduated with the Class of 1969 at Dighton High School. He worked
on a farm before going to work at Lane County Feeders for many years.
He later worked at Ranger Feeders before retiring. He was a member of
Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Scott City where he had served as an Elder
and Usher. He enjoyed his paint horses, doing crafts by welding and
woodworking and especially being involved with his Grandchildren.
He is survived by his Son- Leonard (Leslea) Bockelman of Dodge City,
Daughter- Devonie (Jason) Ferguson of Frederick, Colorado,
Step-Children- Chris (Miranda) Martin of Benedict, Nebraska and Jody
(Nelson) Leon of Texas City, Texas, 2 Sisters- Betty Jane Jones of
Miami, Oklahoma and Mary Lou Borell of Dighton and 7 Grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday at Boomhower Funeral Home in
Dighton with Rev Randall Jahnke officiating. Burial will be in Dighton
Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Holy Cross Lutheran
Church in care of Boomhower Funeral Home. Friends may call from 2:00 PM
