Linda Darlene Edwards was born October 5, 1950, to Leland J. and Ruth A. (Davies) Edwards. She passed away on January 2, 2022, at the Hays Medical Center, Hays, KS, at the age of 71.

Linda was the fifth of seven children. She was afflicted with Polio from age two. This did not stop her from the things she wanted to do.

She was united in marriage to Glen “Ike” Edwards on August 8, 1971, in Downs, KS. The couple was told that she was unable to have children due to Polio; however, they were blessed with three: Timothy Ryan, Mathew Dean, and Sammie Coleen. She taught all three how to swim and often said the water was the only place she could keep up with her kids.

She helped Ike coach little league baseball, was in charge of a daycare center, and babysat several kids.

Linda is survived by husband Ike of Phillipsburg; 2 sons Timothy of Phillipsburg and Mathew and wife Wendy of Pleasantville, IA; daughter Sammie Pinkal and husband Kyle of Wilcox, NE; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Kay Henry and husband Jessie of Harrisburg, OH, Bonnie Edwards and husband John of Cawker City, KS, Rita Martin of Downs, KS; 2 sister’s-in-law Margie Stout and husband Keith Gray of Beloit, KS and Glenice Emmett and husband John of Colorado Springs, CO; 3 brother’s-in-law Loren Edwards and wife Ann of Phillipsburg, Dan Edwards also of Phillipsburg, and Samuel Edwards of Prescott, AZ; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 16th, 2022 in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Scott Eller officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday, April 15th, 2022, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel for visitation.
