The Kansas Department of Transportation expects to begin work on a project to resurface a portion of K-9 in Phillips County on June 24.

Work will consist of a 3-inch mill and inlay, followed by a 1.5-inch overlay on a 10-mile portion of the highway starting at the U.S. 183 junction and ending near Kirwin. Traffic will be directed through the work zone by flaggers and a pilot car during daylight hours, and minor delays should be expected.

KDOT anticipates work to be completed by the end of August, weather permitting.

Venture Corporation is the primary contractor for the $3.1 million project. For more information, contact KDOT area construction engineer Jim Riener at 785-543-2163 or [email protected].
