The Ellis County Health Department on Friday reported the average number of new coronavirus cases per day in the last seven days fell slightly from eight on Wednesday to seven on Friday.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment also announced an additional coronavirus-related death, bringing the total to 68.
As of Friday, there were 17 COVID-19 inpatients at HaysMed, down from 19 on Thursday, with seven of those active patients and 10 in the recovery phase.

There were 12 new cases of COVID-19 identified in Ellis County since Wednesday. There are currently 81 active cases, including five active hospitalizations, and 3,509 recovered cases.
The seven-day average of percent of positive tests fell slightly to 6.1 percent.
Since reporting began, there have been 3,590 cases of COVID-19 identified in Ellis County. Of the total 23,406 tests administered, 14.2 have returned positive for coronavirus.
