Man hospitalized after car travels through KDOT fence on I-70

RUSSELL COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 8:30p.m. Wednesday in Russell County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2016 Dodger Charger driven by  Lori Esther Eckinger, 47, Johnstown, CO., was eastbound on Interstate 70 just east of the Dorrance exit.

The car entered the south ditch, traveled through the KDOT fence and came to a stop in a field facing east.

EMS transported a passenger Patrick Michael Groover, 38, Johnstown, Co., to the Russell Regional Hospital. Eckinger was not injured. Both were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
