The Kansas Department of Transportation plans to start a resurfacing project on nearly 22 miles of K-27 in Cheyenne County this week.

Work will consist of a chip seal on K-27 from the west U.S. 36 junction north to the Nebraska border. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers and a pilot car during daylight hours, and motorists should anticipate minor delays not to exceed 15 minutes.

KDOT expects work to be completed by the end of August, weather permitting.

Vance Brothers Inc., of Kansas City, Mo., is the primary contractor for the $603,000 project. For more information, contact KDOT area construction manager Kegan Hemel at 785-626-3258 or [email protected].
