Welcome rain fell overnight Wednesday in Hays and is expected to continue intermittently through Friday night.
The K-State Agricultural Research Center south of town measured 0.20 inches of rain up until 8 a.m. today. At the Eagle Media Center, 2300 Hall, 0.20 of rain was in the gauge as of 6 a.m.
Hays has received 0.74 inches of rain so far in September, well below the cumulative average through month's end of 2.24 inches. For the year, Hays has had 18.18 inches of moisture. The average by the end of September is 19.84 inches.
The three-day weather forecast is also calling for warmer temperatures in the 80s on Friday and Saturday.
