HAVEN ā The TMP-Marian softball team closed out the regular season with a split against Haven. The Monarchs rallied to win game one 10-6 in 10 innings then dropped game two 3-1.
Both teams finished the regular season 24-2. Regional brackets will be released Wednesday
Game 1: TMP-Marian 10, Haven 6 (10 innings)
Hannah Rose broke the
6-all tie with an RBI single which scored Molly Helget in the top of the 10th
inning. Brynn Schoepf singled to drive in Rose and pushed the lead to 8-6. Schoepf
later scored on an error. Following a Brynn Rebel double, Paige Koenigsman singled
to left to give the Monarchs a 10-6 lead.
Garden City scored two in the first, one in the second and two in the third and built an early 5-0 lead.
TMP plated three in the fourth. Reagan Allen had a two-run triple and scored on a passed ball.
After Haven got a solo home run to go up 6-3, the Monarchs tied the game with three in the sixth. Helget had a two-run single then scored on an error to tie the game.
Rebel went all 10 innings in the circle and picked up the win. She allowed six runs (four earned) on 12 hits with 10 strikeouts and eight walks.
Schoepf, Koenigsman and Addison Watson all had three hits.
Game 2: Haven 3, TMP-Marian 1
The Wildcats scored two in the first and one in the second. The Monarchs lone
run came in the fourth on a groundout to the pitcher.
TMP lost despite outhitting Haven 6-4.
Bria Windholz allowed all three runs on four hits with two strikeouts and four walks and suffered the loss. She also had two hits at the plate.
