2 hospitalized after SUV, semi crash on I-70

SHERMAN COUNTY — Two people were injured in an accident just before 2:30p.m. Thursday in Sherman County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1994 Ford SUV driven by William Deane Foote, 66, Castle Valley, UT., was eastbound on Interstate 70 just east of the Edson exit.

The SUV left the roadway veering into the median. The driver attempted to get back onto the roadway,  struck  an eastbound 2020 Freightline semi. The collision  caused the SUV to roll back into the median and roll onto the passenger side.

EMS transported Foote and a passenger Janice Elizabeth Foote, 67, Castle Valley, UT., to the hospital in Goodland.  The semi driver Benson, Freddie Lee Benson, 57, Horn Lake, Mississippi, was not injured. The occupants of the SUV were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
