Florina M. 'Flo' Beilman

Florina M. “Flo” Beilman, 90, Hays, died Thursday, February 25, 2021, at HaysMed.

She was born November 9, 1930, in Pfeifer, the daughter of John and Paulina (Roth) Jacobs.   In 1949, she graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Salina.  On April 9, 1952, she was united in marriage to Robert Peter Beilman in Pfeifer, and they celebrated 50 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on February 22, 2003.  For 25 years she raised her family and was a homemaker, and then for 18 years was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Hadley Hospital and Hays Medical Center.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and volunteered with Hospice and Birthright.  Flo loved her sports, especially the KC Royals and the KC Chiefs.  Family was number one, and she loved gardening and watching her birds.  The rosary was her saving grace, and she prayed for her family and friends daily.   She touched many lives with her wit and humor and nobody was a stranger.  Flo was loved by so many and we will miss her dearly.

Survivors include six sons: Rob Beilman (Joyce) of Derby, Chuck Beilman (Pam) of Arvada, CO, John Beilman (Andi Miller) of New Bern, NC, Wes Beilman (Keri) of Wichita, Ron Beilman (Kori) of St. Petersburg, FL, and Jason Beilman (Stacey) of Ozawkie, four daughters: Peg Prockish (Dan) of Olathe, Paula Schlitter (Fred Bouse) of Hays, Marissa Lang of Wichita, and Jan Klaus (Brad) of Hays, one sister: Rosie Ziegler of Hays, 22 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers: Lee, Gene, Marcy, Adolph, and Florian Jacobs and three sisters: Armella Schulte, Erma Chrnalager, and Marietta Hillenkamp.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Fr. Brian Lager officiating.  Inurnment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 on Tuesday and from 9:00 am until 9:45 on Wednesday, all at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.  A Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 5:30 pm, followed by a vigil service and rosary at 6:30 pm, all on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made payable to: St. Joseph Catholic Church or Hospice of HaysMed.  Condolences and memories of Flo may be shared with the family at www.haysmemorial.com
