James "Jim" Henry Thayer, age 58, of Hays, Kansas passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021, at his residence. He was born on September 29, 1962, in Wichita, Kansas to Earl and Jacqueline (Idleman) Thayer. He married Cynthia Wilder on January 23, 1982, in Hays.
James was a computer technician by trade, he enjoyed fishing, songwriting and was a self-taught piano player. He had a great sense of humor.
James is survived by his wife, Cynthia of Hays; son, Phillip Thayer (partner Nathan Davis) of Hays; a daughter Heather Thayer (Kirk Werth) of Hays; his brother Frederick Thayer of Hays; his sister Debbie Ford of Hays; three nephews Kenneth Walton, Darin Sheffer and Andrew Thayer; one niece Kellie (Steven) Olson as well as two grandchildren, Kassii Werth and Chase Werth.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be announced at a late date.
