Una Rae Durheim, 82, died Friday, March 12, 2021, at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City, KS.

She was born on September 8, 1938, in Russell, KS to Leland R. and Elsie (Kelpe) Nuss. She grew up in Great Bend, KS where she graduated high school. She married Robert Durheim on July 28, 1957. In 1965, they moved to Dodge City where she worked as a secretary for Coldwell Banker-Hancocks and the Dodge City Country Club, but her biggest passion in life was homemaking.

She was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church where she served on the Altar Guild. For as long as her church family can remember, she was known as “The Flower Lady”. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the YMCA Senior Exercise Club. In her spare time she enjoyed collecting recipes, antiquing, sewing, painting, and ceramics. She loved traveling and vacationing with her family.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Bob; son, Steve Durheim and wife Janet, of Ellis, KS; daughter, Debbie Harris and husband Larry, of Dodge City; brother, Morris Nuss and wife Chris, of Cleveland, OH; her five grandchildren; Travis Elder, Jamie Durheim, Emily Hiss, Ashley Harris, and Jacob Harris; and one great grandchild, Oliver Hiss.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Carole Dorsch.

Memorial service will be on Friday, March 19, 2021, at 10:00 am at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Rev. Randall Jahnke officiating. Burial will follow at the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery, Ft. Dodge. There will be no public visitation, cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register Thursday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.
