2 dead in separate rollover accidents on NW Kansas highways

DECATUR COUNTY —Two people died in separate accidents Thursday evening in Northwest Kansas.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that just after 7p.m., a 2003 Chevy Tahoe driven by Robert L. Papp, 54, Jennings, was northbound on 2400 Road just north of Jennings.

The driver lost control of the SUV. It rolled several times and the driver was ejected. Papp was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Pauls Funeral Home. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.

At 7:20p.m., a Pontiac Grand Am driven by Barbara J. Herrington, 77, Brush, Colorado, was southbound on U.S 161 just north of S Road in Cheyenne County.

The vehicle veered left, traveled off the road and rolled.  Herrington was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported Knodel Funeral Home. She was properly restrained, according to the KHP.
