TOPEKA - Third-ranked Victoria (8-0) will host Norwich (4-4) in their 8-Man Division II playoff opener Thursday. The Knights wrapped up the District 5 title with a win in week seven then closed out an undefeated regular season with a 54-0 win over Otis-Bison. Norwich lost 48-42 to Peabody-Burns to close out the regular season and snap their two-game win streak.
Quinter (3-3) travels to Coldwater-South Central (6-2) for their first-round game Thrusday. Wheatland/Grinnell (6-2) hosts Minneola (4-4) and Wilson (4-4) travels to Caldwell (6-2).
Plainville will host Sublette Friday in the first-round of the Class 1A playoffs. The Cardinals won their final two games to finish 4-4. Sublette (1-4) has lost three straight but has only played three games since week two.
The winner advances to play Conway Springs (7-1) in the second round. The Cardinals have a first-round bye.
Smith Center (7-1) received a first-round bye. The will play the Elkhart/Ell-Saline winner Nov. 6.
In 8-Man Division I, La Crosse will host Moundridge on Thursday in their 8-Man Division I opener Friday. The Leopards (4-3) finished second in their district and have won four of their last five games. Moundridge (4-4) has won two straight.
Hill City (4-3) travels to Leoti-Wichita County (8-0) and Ness City (2-3) travels to Atwood-Rawlins County (3-3) Thursday.
