⛳HHS wins regional title; headed for state for 16th straight year

HAYS – The Hays High Indians girls golf team combined to shoot a 337 and brought home the regional championship at their home course Monday in Hays.

The Indians placed five in the top 10 in route to the team championship and their 16th consecutive trip to state.

Taleia McCrae led the Indians with a second-place finish after she fired a nine-over 81.

Her teammate Evyn Cox was one shot back with an 82 in third place. Katie Dinkel was fourth, Claire Humphrey seventh and Abbie Norris finished ninth.

The 5A state tournament will be played at Carey Park in Hutchinson Monday and Tuesday.
