Gregory Unruh

Gregory Unruh, 61, of Weskan, KS, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021, at his home.

Greg was born in Craig, CO to Waldo and Bette Unruh on December 22, 1959.  He graduated from Weskan High School in 1979.  Once he finished with school he began working in the oil field.  Greg worked for Murfin Drilling Company for 37 ½ years as a tool pusher.

Greg enjoyed life on the farm, especially when the grandchildren would visit to help take care of all the animals.  Greg’s other joy in life were his dogs.

Preceding him in death were his parents Waldo and Bette Unruh, and his grandparent’s Leon and Irene Asher and William and Augusta Unruh.

He is survived by his wife Angela Herschberger of Weskan, KS, his sister Caroline Unruh and husband Dan of Garden City, KS, his children Gregory Unruh, Jr. of Goodland, KS, Jamie and David Proctor of Colorado Springs, CO and Christopher Unruh of Goodland, KS.  He is also survived by his step children Ashleigh and James Gore of Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa, Japan, Kristi and RJ McCall of Forney, TX, Janie and Jarrod Schmidt of Tribune, KS and Cole Herschberger of Stanley, ND; as well as his 10 grandchildren.

No services are scheduled at this time.

Memorial contributions may be designated to the Greg Unruh Memorial Fund to be used for his grandchildren’s education, and may be sent to Koons-Russell Funeral Home, 211 N. Main Ave., Goodland, KS 67735.
