RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Fort Hays State Men's Soccer will be the No. 3 seed in the Great American Conference Championship Tournament this week in Bethany, Okla. The Tigers finished just one point shy of a tie for first place in the GAC standings behind Southern Nazarene and Rogers State. Southern Nazarene had the tiebreaker for the No. 1 seed and will host the tournament for a fourth-straight year.
Fort Hays State will meet No. 2 seed Rogers State in the semifinals on Thursday at 3 p.m. Winner of the match will move on to Saturday's championship match at 1 p.m. This will be the fourth-straight year FHSU and Rogers State are meeting in the semifinals. Rogers State won the last two, while FHSU won back in 2021.
Fort Hays State was No. 12 in the most recent edition of the NCAA Super Region rankings. A new release of the rankings will come out on Wednesday. Ten teams are selected to each of four Super Regionals for the NCAA Tournament. FHSU is part of Super Region 3. Conference tournament champions from four conferences within the super region automatically qualify for the national tournament, while the other six slots are filled with at-large selections.
No. 1 seed Southern Nazarene will meet No. 4 seed Newman in the other semifinal match, set for 6 p.m. on Thursday.
