🏀 FHSU's Hammeke named D2CCA All-Central Region second team

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Kaleb Hemmeke of Fort Hays State was named to the D2CCA All-Central Region Second Team for the 2023-24 season. Hammeke adds this honor to an All-MIAA First Team selection this season.

Hammeke enters the NCAA Tournament averaging 13.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. He has scored in double figures 24 times this year and dished out three or more assists in games 26 times this season. Hammeke ranks sixth all-time in scoring at FHSU with 1,546 points and fourth all-time in assists with 440.

Hammeke is a four-time All-MIAA selection overall, receiving first-team honors each of the last two seasons. He was also an NABC All-District selection for the Central Region last year and in his first year on the court at FHSU, he was the MIAA Freshman of the Year.

Hammeke was one of 11 players selected to the D2CCA All-Central Region Team. He is one of four players to earn the honor from the MIAA, joining Wes Dreamer of Northwest Missouri State, Jaden Wells of Central Oklahoma, and Deshaun English II of Pittsburg State. The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference had five selections on the team and the Great American Conference had two. Malik Willingham of Minnesota State was selected as Player of the Year.
