Speed resident Shannon R. Schurz passed away May 19, 2021, at his 
home in Speed at the age of 54.&nbsp; He was born July 13, 1966, in 
Phillipsburg, the son of Walter &amp; Georgine (Bittel) Schurz.

Survivors include his wife Joan of the home in Speed; son, Anthony 
Russo of Salina; daughters, Christina Gantenbein of Abilene &amp; 
Jennifer Gaytan of Detroit, KS; brothers, Bob of Bonner Springs &amp; 
Rick of Olathe; sisters, Dena Vehige of Hays &amp; Connie Breese of 
Quinter &amp; 7 grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen.&nbsp; The family will hold a celebration of life 
service on Monday, May 24, at 11:00 a.m. in the Logan community building 
with Jordin Greer officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shannon Schurz Memorial Fund
