Hays Post Sports
The Kansas State High School Activities Association released its updated 2026-27 classifications Thursday, and just one area school saw a change.
The enrollment figures are based on students in ninth through 12th grades as of Sept. 21, 2026.
Phillipsburg is the only regional school to see a change, dropping from 3A to 2A with an enrollment of 161.
Hays is 5A with an enrollment of 997, which is the 17th-largest enrollment in Class 5A.
TMP-Marian also remained 2A with the sixth-largest enrollment at 157 in class 2A.
Plainville (120) remained 2A, while Hill City (99), Ellis (92), Quinter (88), La Crosse (75) and Victoria (62) remained 1A.
