
Neoma M. Tacha was born January 22, 1925, in Council Grove, KS to Joseph
G. and Marye (Strnad) Kusy. She passed away April 12, 2022, at the Norton
County Hospital at the age of 97.
Neoma attended country school in Republic County for two years and
attended schools in Cuba, Belleville, and Republic, KS before moving to
Jennings in 1939. She graduated from Jennings Consolidated School in
1943.
Neoma was employed at the Cabusco Defense Plant in Denver during
WWII. After the war, she attended and graduated from The Charles of
Denver Beauty Academy. She was then employed by Driscoll Beauty Shop of
Oberlin for one year. Neoma married Harold “Bob” Tacha in Jennings on
September 14, 1946. She owned and operated Tacha Beauty Shop in Jennings
from 1947 to 1991. Neoma and Bob danced through life together and now
they are again!
Neoma was a member of the Jennings United Methodist Church, American
Legion Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors Lodge, and the Tuesday Study Club.
She served on the Jennings School board, Fire Department, Czech Heritage
Board, Jennings Pride, and Museum Board.
Neoma was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; parents, Joseph
Kusy and Marye Kusy Flaska; stepfather, Joseph Flaska and brother,
Willis R. Kusy. She is survived by sons, Roger and wife Peggy of Oakley
and Royal and wife Gayle of Hoxie and grandchildren: Dustin Tacha and
wife Jessica and their daughters Madilynn and Emmarie Sue, Ashley Brooks
and husband Austin and their children Brynna and Ayden Brown, and
Garrett Tacha and fiancé Sarah and his children Josephine and Tucker
Tacha.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at
the Jennings United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Jennings
Cemetery. Neoma will lie in-state and the book will be available to
sign from 12-5:00 pm Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at the funeral home.

Department, or the Jennings United Methodist Church and may be sent in
