KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Fort Hays State pitcher Paul Panduro was named the MIAA Pitcher of the Week on Monday after a strong performance in his start at Newman University last weekend. Panduro is the fourth FHSU baseball player to receive an Athlete of the Week honor this season, joining Elliott Herrmann (Hitter of the Week - Feb. 3), Cade Flaherty (Pitcher of the Week – Feb. 25), and Trey DeGarmo (Hitter of the Week – Mar. 17).

Panduro hurled eight shutout innings against Newman on Friday (Apr. 18), striking out five batters and allowing just two hits. He held the opposition to a batting average of .077 in the 8-0 win for Fort Hays State, which helped the Tigers even the weekend series before going on to win the series with a game three win. It was Panduro's longest outing of the season and second time he did not allow an earned run in a start this season.

Panduro joins Isaiah Keller of Central Missouri, the MIAA Hitter of the Week, as the weekly honorees from the conference office. Keller had a staggering six home runs and 20 RBIs for the week in four wins for UCM.
